Mixed media on canvas
David GlennIn Veiled Silence, David Glenn explores the suffocating weight of emotional concealment. A fragmented figure emerges beneath dripping layers of gold, white, and ash—simultaneously revealed and erased. The face barely surfaces, as if trying to speak through the paint but continually being silenced by it. Glenn confronts the expectations of appearance and performance—what we’re allowed to show, and what must stay hidden. The turquoise garment suggests fragility, while the vertical streaks above it imply repression masquerading as beauty. This is not a portrait. It’s a confession. Veiled Silence is about what happens when you’re told too often to “calm down,” “smile more,” or “be okay.” Glenn pushes back, giving form to the unspoken. The result is haunting, raw, and defiantly unresolved.
In Veiled Silence, David Glenn examines emotional concealment through a fragmented figure layered in gold, white, and ash—revealed and erased at once.
The barely surfacing face and turquoise garment evoke fragility, repression, and the demand to appear composed.

In The Watcher, David Glenn confronts the unrelenting gaze of society, embedding a hyper-realistic eye within a storm of chaotic brushstrokes. The swirling colors represent internal unrest—expectations, judgment, and the relentless noise of performance. The eye stares back at the viewer, challenging their complicity. This work isn’t meant to comfort; it’s meant to disrupt. Glenn channels his own sense of exposure and alienation, turning personal anguish into a confrontational visual dialogue. As he puts it, “If you don’t feel a little uncomfortable, you’re not really seeing it.”

In Hidden Torture, David Glenn layers radiant gold and white over a fractured inner world.
The work exposes the tension between surface beauty and buried pain, asking what we choose to hide behind brilliance. 36"x24" Mixed Media on canvass.

In Man in Fracture, Glenn explores identity splintered by experience through expressive, emotionally charged strokes.
The fractured form and intense gaze evoke inner conflict, vulnerability, and the slow pull toward healing.  8'x9 1/2" Chalk on paper.

In Red Dot with Dying Flowers, David Glenn explores quiet decay—beauty in the moment it begins to fade.
A lone red dot anchors the work with urgency as wilting florals and a nearly erased figure suggest emotional suspension and impermanence.

In San Francisco, David Glenn channels the kinetic soul of the city—its color, grit, and heartbeat. This isn’t a postcard; it’s a pulse. Layered reds ignite like sunset over the bay, sharp whites evoke fog-drenched mornings, and black lines sketch out the city’s bold edges, its structure, its spirit.Rather than depicting San Francisco literally, Glenn captures its essence—the rush of ambition, the thrum of diversity, and the beauty found in every steep climb and glowing window. The brushwork feels alive, echoing cable cars in motion, voices rising from alleyways, dreams floating over Golden Gate winds. San Francisco is a tribute to reinvention and resilience. It celebrates the city not as a place, but as a living, breathing idea: chaotic, creative, and full of unstoppable energy.

In San Francisco, David Glenn captures the city’s kinetic pulse through layered reds, sharp whites, and bold black lines.
Rather than a literal view, the work evokes ambition, diversity, and constant motion—chaotic, creative, and alive.

In Rocket Girl, David Glenn offers a haunting meditation on childhood innocence burdened by violence.
